Daycares

Most of what a licensor asks about is already on your wall. Water is the one that sends people hunting through a drawer. It does not have to — it is a test, a certificate and a date.

Why us

Why programmes call us

Ready for your licence renewal

The water evidence is the programme’s job, not the landlord’s. We sample every drinking fixture and hand you a dated record for the licensing file (606 CMR 7.07).

Numbers an inspector accepts

Every reading printed beside the standard it is measured against, dated and in a format you can hand over without explaining it.

Sized to the site, not the catalogue

Fixture count, peak draw and the equipment you actually run decide the system — not the square footage or the number of bathrooms.

Evidence for the licensing file, without the scramble

Every drinking fixture sampled, two draws each, dated. Where a reading comes back high we fix it at the fixture, so the record you hand over says found and closed.

Fitted around trading hours

Early, late or on a closed day. The people who fit it are the people who come back to service it.

What the system is

How it is put together

We test every tap and fountain the children drink from before we fit anything. Then we put lead-reducing filters where the results say they are needed, and run the fill stations through them. You end up with water that has actually been checked, and a dated record that goes straight into your licensing file.

Questions

What people ask us

What water testing does a Massachusetts daycare need?

Licensing under 606 CMR 7.07 asks you to show your water is safe to drink. We sample lead at the taps and fountains children drink from, run a full panel on a well, and give you a dated record for your licensing file. Testing runs $250 to $400, and a first round of lead analysis is often free.

Is lead testing free for childcare programmes?

MassDEP’s assistance programme covers one round of lead analysis for schools and childcares that have not used it. After that it is about $30 a sample, with two samples per fixture.

How often should a daycare retest its water?

Filter cartridges are changed every year, and lead is re-sampled every three years — you can spread that across a third of the taps each year. On a private well we also test bacteria, nitrate and pH each year.

How much do filtered drinking stations cost?

$1,300 to $2,900 per filtered station, installed, with certified fixtures so the lead you removed does not come back. Upkeep runs $100 to $400 a year.

Our daycare is on a private well. What changes?

The well needs a full panel against MassDEP drinking water standards, plus bacteria, nitrate and pH, and point-of-entry treatment where the readings call for it. We keep the calendar so your licence renewal is never a scramble.
